leadership development: charities & communities
Organisations in the charity and communities sector are facing the same challenges as every other business, and have faced increasing pressure as a result of austerity measures over the last few years. Having previously worked for charities in managerial, director and chief executive roles, I truly value the opportunity to work within this sector, where I am able to offer both a coaching and mentoring role. They can achieve all of the benefits of transformational coaching as outlined under leadership development, along with experienced insights into the challenges that they face on a daily basis.
I’ve worked with Chief Executives who are new to the role, helping them to explore their leadership style and step up into what are often highly visible roles. They’ve been supported to step out of the operational work, and find their vision for taking the charity forward, even in the very uncertain funding environment that they are all facing.
In the charity and community sector, everyone cares deeply about their beneficiaries, and we’ve rebalanced life and work with a focus on self care to ensure that they don’t give of themselves until there is nothing left.
I’d love to keep working with charities, which is why I offer reduced rates in this sector, so contact me today to find out more.

“I have previously had mixed reactions of coaching, but I have found working with Nicki an incredibly fulfilling and positive experience. As a CEO I feel it's really important to obtain professional and challenging coaching and there are different types of coaching or mentoring available. I find Nicki is very calm and has an incredible way of passing that skill on. She has helped enable me to focus on transformation in ways that I wasn’t expecting, in relation to improving my reflections, life/work balance and leadership. I would honestly recommend her to any professional.”

"I made my first appointment with some trepidation. Not really knowing what to expect I found my first coaching session both settling and challenging at the same time as Nicki was very good at both listening and asking considered questions which helped me to explore new paradigms to ongoing challenges both in and outside of work. Through my coaching sessions I have clarified my values, my goals and what I’m committed to both at home and work. I’ve also learnt to appreciate the value of recognising and managing my emotions and energy rather than my time and over thinking things. If you are reading this and wondering whether to take the plunge and contact Nicki my advice would be to go for it. My only regret is I did not do it earlier. Nicki is a professional and charismatic coach with a considered approach to helping people like you and I tell our stories, explore your options, generate new possibilities and shape these into a bespoke plan for ourselves. Nicki is very adept at building rapport and creating with you a coaching environment that works for you. In terms of the future I plan to return to Nicki at least once a year to take stock, review, celebrate and refresh my coaching plan.
